Dog: Berto (who also goes by Bert & Bert Reynolds) is a four year old rescued Chihuahua.
Human: Lives with Katie (has lived in J.P. for 12 years) and Sarah James, India, Fuk and Cassius on Pond Street in Central J.P.
Rescue story: “He was a stray from Quincy that got brought to the MSPCA shelter when I worked there. They thought he was too skittish and were going to euthanize him so I took him. He was about 8 months old. The first time I saw him I thought he looked like a goddamned alien.”
Does your J.P. Dog have any funny quirks, odd behaviors, or defining characteristics? “Doesn’t like men, chases flies, likes to put his foot in his ear and then lick it. His favorite food is mac n’ cheese.”
What do you love most about your J.P. Dog? “He’s always super happy to see me.”
Your J.P. Dog’s favorite outdoor spots in J.P.? “Anything indoor.”

It takes a village to raise an animal so would you please consider contributing to a pet care fund for Katie’s cat, Dave, who was recently diagnosed with a serious rare and genetic heart disease. Katie’s friends started this fund for her because she doesn’t have the amount of money that’s needed to take care of Dave! Click here to make a donation. Thanks!!
