Dog: Jemma is a 4 year old rescue dog, who also goes by Jemma Girl and Bemma. Her humans were told she’s a terrier collie mix but they think she has some pitbull in her too.
Human: Jemma lives with Lauren LeBlanc and David Mason near “Little City Feed” and the Stonybrook T station. All three of them moved here from Cleveland, Ohio a year and a half ago.
Rescue story:
“Jemma came from a pound in Ohio. The whole litter was there and David’s brother rescued Jemma and her brother Jax. Jemma was the only tan dog, and the runt, and everyone wanted her (obviously, because she’s so cute!). Jax is bigger and has a black coat. Jax still lives in Cleveland with David’s brother. We love to get them together when we can.”
Does your J.P. Dog have any funny quirks, odd behaviors, or defining characteristics?
“She runs really funny with her hind legs tucked under! She grew up in a house with a tiny dog and I think she mimicked the way the little dog ran. It’s hilarious.”
What do you love most about your J.P. Dog?
“She’s so lovable and love loves people and kids. She is a little nervous but once she gets to know you she is a love bug. I love to see her playing with kids. They will poke her, pull her tail, etc. and she doesn’t mind one bit!”
Your J.P. Dog’s favorite outdoor spots in J.P.?
“We walk the arboretum and JP Pond quite a bit.”
Anything else you’d like to share about your J.P. Dog?
“She is very muscular and strong, and LOVES to run! Also, I (Lauren) run with Forest Hills Runners in JP. They welcome dog parents to bring their dogs with them on their runs. Jemma always loves when she gets to go!
Say hi if you see us walking, we’re a very friendly dog parents! :)”
