Julip is an 8 year old rescued Greyhound. Her former racing name was Goodbye Hottie, but she currently goes by a number of variations on her second name: Julip the Tulip, Jujubee, and the Pointy one.
“Julip was rescued from the MSPCA in 2009, after spending the first 2.5 years of her life as a racer. Once I met her, I was immediately smitten. She was a little skeptical, and spent our first moments together idly sniffing her enclosure. In time though, it’s become clear that we share a special soul-level bond.”
Pasa is a three year old Chihuahua, or possibly chihuahua-dachshund (or “chiweenie”). We’ve also heard theories that she’s chihuahua-rat terrier and (my personal favorite) chihuahua-Rhodesian ridgeback. Her full name is Pasilla (pronounced Pa-see-yuh), like the pepper commonly used in Oaxacan dishes. But in practice, she’s Pasa, which means “raisin” in Spanish. She also goes by Pasita (“little raisin”) and Squeeta (my mom’s nickname for her). (Continue for Pasa’s rescue story and five more photos of this little one…)(more…)
