I spotted this Golden on Centre Street outside of City Feed yesterday. This beautiful dear was a calm, soothing balm in the midst of the loud, frenetic roadwork mayhem in Centre JP. Every street corner should be so medicinal.

Despite the hustle and bustle, this guy was a zen master outside of Goodwill on Centre Street today.
I received this delightful collage from a JP Dogs reader named Sarah.
“Bodhi spent 20 minutes making snow dog angels when I got home from work yesterday. I laughed the whole time. She’ll never pose for a photo but she was having too much fun to notice that I got some good action shots.”
For those of us who love dogs deeply, we know that the loss of them can be as grief-filled as human loss. Yet, the wider culture doesn’t quite understand that. I want J.P. Dogs to be a safe place to honor that grief, and celebrate the beloved dogs who have lived in our midst, and who have made Jamaica Plain an even more amazing place to live.
With that in mind, I was moved to tears by recently receiving an unsolicited email from Junebug’s humans asking if I ever post about dogs who have died. Yes, most definitely. And I invite any of you whose J.P. dog has died, to send me your photos and your stories, so that we can create a permanent memorial to your dear dog on J.P. Dogs.
Junebug, June for short, was an English Bulldog, who died a few years ago, 6 weeks shy of her 12th birthday, from a stroke. (Continue for more photos) (more…)
