I spotted this Golden on Centre Street outside of City Feed yesterday. This beautiful dear was a calm, soothing balm in the midst of the loud, frenetic roadwork mayhem in Centre JP. Every street corner should be so medicinal.
Dog
Blue, JP Will Miss You!
About this J.P. Dog:
Blue Basil Audino is a five year old Chinook, who we first met on JP Dogs when I spotted this gentle giant on my street. It was love at first sight for me.
From his human: “Nicknames are too abundant to list in full, but I often call him “Blueberry Muffin Dog” because he’s a sweet little muffin, and “Sherlock” because he takes sooooooo long to sniff the tiniest things on our walks that it feels as though he’s treating everything like the big clue that will crack his latest case wide open. We’ve taken to using the word “sherlocking” to describe this.” (more…)
Spotted! Sidewalk Score of a Lifetime
I spotted the slice on the ground, outside the Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center, but assumed I’d have time to grab it before Arlo did. But in one fell swoop he scooped it up, like he’d been born knowing that if you have to quickly grab a piece of pizza on the run, you always grab it by the crust. It was downright athletic. Of course, then he went into defensive posture, giving me looks like, “Mofo, if you try to take THIS from me, I will bite you. I don’t care whose mama you are. Do you see the size of this piece of pizza???”
I sure did. Since it was practically the size of his whole body, I did not want Arlo ingesting this thing. So I decided to go to battle. First I grabbed and tore at it, getting decent chunks. Meanwhile, he’s trying to gulp the whole thing down, or what was remaining, without even chewing. Time was of the essence, and I didn’t have a single treat on me to try to barter. Spotted! Window Westie
Arlo and I had to stop by AAA Appliance on Centre Street today. Turns out there’s a resident Westie who hangs out there, but we were in too much of a rush to get the deets! (Continue for one more photo…) (more…)
Toothy Ted
About this J.P. Dog:

Spotted! Legs That Just Don’t Quit
Now, I don’t mean to objectify this lady or fella, but come on, look at those lonnnng legs! Also, isn’t our neighborhood good-lookin’ too?
Hans is a Stand Up Guy
About this J.P. Dog:
Super Hans is a 2 or 3 year old rescued Chihuahua mix (maybe mixed with Rat Terrier?) from Tennessee. (He’s named after a character on “Peep Show”, a British sitcom.) The rescue was part of the Pooches and Purrs Cooperative which is a group of shelters and individuals who help foster and find homes for rescued dogs and cats. He was about 1 or 2 when rescued in February 2015. (Continue for 4 more photos…)
Auggie & Moose, Half Brothers!
About these J.P. Dogs:
Augustus Henry, who also goes by Auggie the Doggie, is a six year old Chocolate English Labrador. Mr. Moose McGillicuddy, who may also answer to Moosey Goosey, is a five year old Black English Labrador. Collectively they are called the Goons. They have the same dad but different moms, “brothers from a different mother”! (Continue for 6 more photos…) (more…)
Spotted! Sadie, Unstoppable Lady
Arlo and I had the absolute pleasure of running into this determined little love the other day at Peter’s Hill. Sadie is a 16 year old cockapoo. She’s actually a Rozzie dog but her tenacity of spirit and sheer adorability made it so she entered into that rare category of non-JP Dogs who make the cut for the blog. Sadie’s been rolling around on her wheels since two years ago when he legs gave out. Though her human said she’s hard of hearing and her vision is fading, that didn’t stop her from chasing after Arlo. He usually tries to hump other dogs, but with Sadie he just couldn’t figure out how to rig the system! (Continue for 2 more photos…) (more…)
